The excitement of LEARNING separates youth from old age. As long as you're learning, you're NOT OLD. Learn more about the computer. Go to extension classes at the university. Read. Read. Read. Go to lectures. Join a book club. Just keep the mind active. (Crossword puzzles are a great mind exercise.)
Cherish all of your happy moments. They make a fine cushion for old age. Concentrate on buying memories for your children and grandchildren. It's a great way to spend your money.
Old age is when broadness of the mind and narrowness of the waist changes places. Have opinions but be cautious of how and when you share them.
GREATNESS is the dream of youth realized in old age. What is "greatness?" It's contentment and having your offspring recognize you loved them and always "did your best" even though at times you failed their expectations.
When you realize that the "days dwindle down to a precious few" you make more of each day. You smile more. You look at the sunrise differnetly. You relish fine food, good company, lifes little plesures. You have more patients with your spouse and family. You look for the good in everyone and comment on it. LIKE OR LOVE PEOPLE FOR THEIR VIRTUES AND BE TOLERANT OF THEIR FAULTS.
The Golden Years can indeed be golden. Postings on loving and living an abundant life

THREE OLDER SISTERS...
Three elderly sisters are living together. One was standing next to the bathtub and said, "Was I getting into the tub or just getting out?" Another sister was midway on the stairs and said, "Am I going up the stairs or on my way down?" The third sister said, Those girls are loosing thier minds. I hope that never happens to me. Knock on wood. She knocks on the table top. "Oh, was that the front door or the back door?"
